Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) in Schools INSET Training
This interactive EDI training course is designed to help staff embed EDI in schools, developing an inclusive and respectful school culture where everyone thrives. Available as a half-day or full-day session, this interactive course can be delivered as part of an INSET programme or twilight CPD, with both online and face to face options dependent on group sizes.

Aims of the Half-Day EDI Training Session
Participants will:
- Develop an understanding of the equality legislation
- Consider the benefits of an inclusive school
- Explore the nine protected characteristics
- Explore what constitutes unlawful discrimination
- Develop strategies for preventing and tackling inappropriate language and behaviour within your school
- Explore how unconscious bias can manifest in a school and how to reduce it
- Explore strategies and practical ideas for embedding EDI across the school to proactively create an environment where pupils value and respect differences and feel safe, valued and engaged.
Aims of the Full-Day EDI Training Session
In addition to the above, the full-day course provides:
- A deeper exploration of unconscious bias in education and strategies to address it.
- Comprehensive best practice audits to support your school in embedding EDI.
