Navigating your Equality, Diversity and Inclusion journey: Empowering schools through EDI training
We live in an increasingly diverse society – this is what makes the world so interesting, innovative and vibrant.
As society continues to evolve, it’s crucial that we equip both pupils and staff with the understanding, tools, and confidence to respect, value and celebrate diversity in all its forms. This is essential in preparing pupils for life in modern Britain as engaged, respectful citizens in an increasingly globalised world.
As schools work to provide an environment that promotes mutual respect and understanding, diversity and inclusion training has become a key resource for educators and school staff.
At the core of this journey is the idea that every individual deserves to be treated with dignity and respect. When inclusive practice is embedded in school environments, pupils and staff feel safe, valued, and empowered to achieve their best. This is how we create the conditions where everyone thrives.
The importance of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) training in schools
Over recent years, significant strides have been made at the legal level to support equality in Britain, notably through the introduction of the Equality Act 2010 and the Public Sector Equality Duty. However, while the legal frameworks are strong, there is still a need for practical guidance on how to embed equality, diversity, and inclusion in school settings.
That’s where our equality, diversity and inclusion training courses come in. Designed specifically for educational environments, these courses provide the support needed to ensure schools meet their legal and moral obligations, cultivating a culture of inclusivity.
What our EDI training offers
Our EDI training courses for schools equip staff with the confidence, tools, and strategies to:
- Fulfil Legal and Moral Responsibilities: Ensure that your school meets its legal obligations under the Equality Act 2010 and the Public Sector Equality Duty by promoting equality, tackling discrimination and fostering positive relationships across the school.
- Embed Inclusive Practice in Education: Ensure lessons and curriculum planning are bias-free, equitable and inclusive by meaningfully embedding diverse perspectives, role models, backgrounds, abilities, and experiences.
- Establish an Inclusive School Climate: Create an environment where all pupils and staff feel valued, respected, and empowered. By integrating diversity and inclusion training, you’ll foster a school culture that promotes belonging and encourages everyone to reach their full potential.

What to expect from our EDI training
Knowledge of the Education System
We draw on our experiences as outstanding teachers and EDI trainers, bringing inside knowledge of working in the education system, along with the tools to deliver training in an engaging and accessible manner.
How We Work: Tailored EDI Training for Your Needs
We start with a free and friendly consultation call to discuss your EDI training requirements. This initial conversation helps us understand your school setting and how we can best support your journey toward embedding inclusive practice within your school.
Our interactive diversity and inclusion training sessions are available in both half-day and full-day formats, with face-to-face and online options to cater to different group sizes and budgets.
A Safe, Inclusive Space for Learning and Growth
We recognise that EDI can sometimes be an uncomfortable topic, which is why we place a strong emphasis on creating a safe space during our training. We foster an environment where participants can engage in honest, respectful dialogue, reflect on strengths and areas for improvement within current practices, and ask questions in a supportive space. As such, we recommend class-sized groups of participants where possible and have a maximum of 50 people per session.
Interactive Sessions for Effective Learning
Our diversity and inclusion training sessions have interactive activities and discussions built in, to ensure that delegates are actively engaged in the training process. Participants work collaboratively to explore real-life situations, and reflect on how they can implement inclusive practice in their own school.
Comprehensive Training Resources for Continuous Learning
We believe in the power of inclusive practice to foster an environment where learners can thrive, and we equip you with the tools to bring those principles into your own setting.
To reinforce the training, each session comes with a comprehensive training pack that includes the following resources:
- Inclusive Language Guide: Practical tips on using inclusive and respectful language.
- Guide to Microaggressions: A resource to help identify and address subtle biases in everyday interactions.
- Best Practice Audits: Tools for assessing your current practices and identifying areas for improvement at an individual and organisational level.
- Further Resource Links: Curated materials to support ongoing learning and development.
In addition, you will be given an Equality Code to introduce to your school. You will receive a starter bundle of 10 A3 posters and a short powerpoint presentation.
These resources ensure that your team can continue to embed EDI best practice long after the session ends.
EDI Training to Meet Your Needs
Not sure what your EDI training should include? Don’t worry—we’re here to help! With years of experience in equality, diversity, and inclusion training in UK schools, we can guide you on the ideal session length and content based on your school’s specific needs.
